The adage of “think globally, act locally” also applies to COVID-19, Montclair Town Council candidate Peter Yacobellis says.

Peter Yacobellis, candidate for Montclair Councilor-at-Large, has released the following statement on Montclair’s recovery from the coronavirus crisis and a 7-point plan outlining COVID-19 recovery priorities at the municipal level.

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, the Democratic Congressman representing New York’s 18th district, has announced his endorsement of Peter Yacobellis for Montclair Township Council.

These times of crises also serve to expose the fractures and weaknesses within our leadership, the catastrophic consequences of their failures, and the separate and stand-alone crisis of widespread fear, uncertainty and panic that results when we do not trust our leadership.

A former administration official with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Peter worked to pass marriage equality in New York and ran the administrations’ rent stabilization office and Super Storm Sandy command center.

While the crisis has prompted an unprecedented response by governments around the world, it has also presented unprecedented challenges for our leaders.

Today LGBTQ Victory Fund endorsed 18 more openly LGBTQ candidates for 2020 races. Among the endorsees is Marko Liias, running for Lieutenant Governor of Washington, who was made a Game Changer* candidate and would be the first openly LGBTQ statewide executive elected in Washington.

A prominent list of LGBTQ+ leaders from across New Jersey have announced their support of Vice President Joe Biden’s Presidential campaign, organized by Joe Forte, member of Biden’s LGBTQ+ Finance Council.
